Olivia Lee | Newborn Shoot | 9/16/17
WOOF! Y'all. What a month it's been! Between beginning headshot season, prepping/participating in my first art festival (Berea Arts Fest, holla,) and apartment searching, I can say that September has certainly NOT been boring! While fast paced living forces me to get organized and on top'a things, I can say I'm looking forward to a nice fall nature retreat at the CVNP.
Anywho. You know who else has a crazy busy life? These folks:
I took Amanda and Danny's maternity photos just one week after they celebrated their sister's wedding (yes, see the blog post below for details.) Well, their baby girl arrived early, less than three weeks after the maternity shoot! I was so excited when they contacted me to take Olivia's newborn photos. At two weeks, she was sleepy as could be, and still T I N Y. I think I've only seen two actual newborns in my life, and I'm always surprised at how small life starts!
Taking Olivia's photos inside Amanda and Danny's cozy home helped me to step back, breathe, and appreciate the wonder of life for a little while. Oh, and I got to pet a giant dog ;) ;)
Alicia and Eric | Weymouth Country Club | 8/5/2017
Greetings to my new followers! Excited to finally be making my first blog post as Grace McC Photography. It's been a whirlwind of a month, from photographing my first wedding, to beginning headshot season, to preparing for Berea Arts Fest.
Wait - did you say PHOTOGRAPHING HER FIRST WEDDING?
YES! I'd been wanting to delve into wedding photography for a while, and my talented friend Brittney Callahan referred a couple to me this past spring. Alicia and Eric were so kind and open-minded from our first meeting on and their baby girl, Charlotte, has been a star throughout the whole process. I knew she'd be a big feature for their big day on August 5th.
The experience was different than other shoots and just incredible - I witnessed true partnership and love, I was challenged to capture important and spontaneous moments, and I even got to groove to some classic swing jams at their reception.
Thank you to Weymouth Country Club for a fantastic venue and to the amazing couple, I wish you a lifetime of happiness and continuous love.
Shout out to Lindsey Mercer, my lovely second shooter, whose images are intimate and special - couldn't have done it without you.
